Who We Are
SW Montana Veterans Food Pantry and Services was co-founded by Veteran Jay Wood and wife, Susan Wood. Both are dedicated to supporting local Veterans in need by providing essential services such as nutritious food and individualized support.
JAY WOOD | President
A Veteran of over 24 years, Jay began his service in the US Coast Guard from 1981 to 1995. He later joined the Air National Guard in 2010 before retiring in 2020. Following retirement, Jay realized he wanted lend a "helping hand up" to his fellow Veterans, which unfolded in a plan to create what is now known as the SW Montana Food Pantry and Services.
Originally from Clear Water, WI, Jay moved to Deer Lodge in 2010 with wife and co-founder, Susan Wood. When he isn’t busy with the Pantry, he can be found hunting and fishing and riding his motorcycle.
SUSAN WOOD | Administrative Officer
An experienced Military spouse and retired cosmetologist, Susan is also a proud mother to four amazing children, two "in-love" children, and a nana to two beautiful little girls. As a co-founder of SW Montana Food Pantry and Services, Susan loves every minute of her work assisting, supporting, and connecting Veterans with essential resources and services.
Susan is originally from Caldwell, Idaho and in her off time enjoys baking, reading, creating diamond art paintings, and singing with the worship team at her church every Sunday.
